Sissi Makropoulou is a versatile harp virtuoso, composer, and electronic music artist based in Athens and Berlin. Educated at the Koninklijk Conservatorium van Amsterdam and the Universität der Künste Berlin, Sissi’s artistic path is marked by distinguished awards, including victories at the 5th International Harp Competition in Utrecht, the Young Soloists Competition in Athens, and the Regensburg Composition Contest.
In the realm of electronic music, she operates under the pseudonym Sissi Rada, serving as a composer, lyricist, singer, and producer, melding classical sensibilities with electronic approaches.
As a classically trained harpist she has collaborated with celebrated conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Teodor Currentzis, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Matthias Pintscher and has been a vital part in orchestras such as musicaAeterna, Berliner Philharmoniker , Deutsche Oper and Brandenburgisches Staatsorchester Frankfurt to name a few.
Currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Psychology Sissi is pushing the boundaries of music and healing. She has completed internships in child psychiatry, mental health, and autism support, and is trained in Music Imagery therapy. Her current project, “Experiential Music”, offers multi-sensory group sessions focused on mindfulness and consciousness.
