The practice is continuously evolving, with each session offering an opportunity to explore what it means to cultivate Areté (ἀρετή) — an ancient Greek concept associated with excellence, human flourishing, and the development of one’s potential.

Music Breathing (MB) is a music therapy method that brings together music listening, mindful breathing, and guided imagery to support emotional regulation and psychological resilience. Breath becomes a gentle anchor throughout the musical experience, helping us slow down, connect with the body, and become more attentive to what we feel.

Through music, focused breathing, and creative exploration, the sessions invite a deeper awareness of emotions and bodily sensations within a supportive therapeutic framework.

Listening to or playing music in a non-ordinary state of consciousness encourages a form of inward attention, bringing participants closer to earlier layers of the self, before the formation of the metaself.

Through artistic experiences such as music-making, music-listening, painting, and writing, the process can open pathways of expression beyond predominantly verbal forms of communication.
